What do I need to join? Here are a few basic requirements:

  • You must be at least 16 1/2 years old
  • You must submit an application
  • If you're over 18 years old, have a valid driver's license
  • Must be in good physical health
  • And you must be willing to learn something new everyday

No experience needed but previous EMT, CPR or first aid training is a plus!

Our membership consists of four classifications:

  1. Active
    • Members who are over 18 years old and pull their full duty as an EMT or Driver
  2. Associate
    • Members who are over 18 years old and pull half the required duty; usually members who live out of the area or fulltime students
  3. Cadet
    • Members who are 16 1/2 - 18 years old, can participate in all squad activites and become EMT certified. This program allows high school students to broaden their views of the world and to meet new people
  4. Probationary Member
    • Any person that is within their first three (3) months as a member. This time is used to train and educate new members

Our membership is then further broken down:

  • Emergency Medical Technician's (EMT's)
    • Members with their EMT certification have primary direct patient contact
  • Trainees
    • Members who are working towards becoming driving or EMT certified
  • Drivers
    • Members who only drive the ambulances, assist the EMT's with patient care, CPR and first aid trained, are training in emergency driving and familiarization of equipment
  • Cleared Second 
    • Members who are both EMT and Driver certified and can fulfill both positions

 What We Provide To You...

As a member, you would not only be donating your time to the community, but you will also gain valuable knowledge. We will work to ensure you receive:

  • Full training as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)
  • Monthly training classes
  • Training with all our equipment and tools
  • Unprecedented decision-making skills
  • Excellent opportunities to develop & function in leadership roles
  • And so much more...

(All training is free to our members)

What You Provide to US...

After being trained, you will be ready to assist your fellow responders and the community with the skills and techniques to save lives. Our basic membership requirements include:

  • Riding one (1) shift per week
  • Attending each general meeting
  • Enroll and complete an EMT course (with our help) within 1 year of acceptance
  • Be able to participate in squad activities
  • And being reliable, having a sense of duty and being able to work with and medically treat all types of people

Stop by squad headquaters weekdays between 6pm and 8pm to pick up an application and meet the crew or follow the instructions below for printing our application. For more information about our organization please call us at 908-757-3054.

Instructions

1. Please print and fill out the first page and return it signed as soon as possible.

2. Have your physician fill out the second page and attach a copy of a physical done within the last six (6) months. If more then six (6) months old, then a new physical must be performed. This must be returned when you are called for an interview.

3. Pages 3 and 4 are informational and are for you to keep.
